Welcome
This brochure is intended to present you with an opportunity for your company or for you personally, one which at first glance
may not seem to correspond to the image people from other regions have of Western Pomerania. Thanks to the island of Usedom,
the “imperial baths” around Heringsdorf, the sunny island of Rügen, and the Szczecin Lagoon, Western Pomerania does enjoy a
reputation as a popular tourist destination that denotes high quality and dynamism and continues to attract large numbers of
people; yet there are also other traditions that point to the region’s industrial past, which was once of no small importance
for Germany.
This included the development and construction of aircraft. The German aviation and aerospace industries were strongly influenced by the Anklam Arado aircraft factory, the Ernst Heinkel AG in Barth, and the Luft-Fahrzeug-Gesellschaft in Stralsund, among others. Although structurally weak at that time as well, Western Pomerania demonstrated that despite the absence of large-scale industry, a strong branch could emerge and spread its synergy effects throughout the region.
For a number of years now, aircraft construction has again been taking place in Western Pomerania. With the establishment of the Competence Centre for Aircraft Development and Construction in Pasewalk, we are reviving our region’s rich traditions in aviation and aerospace with the goal of becoming, in association with other enterprises from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany and abroad, a centre of the modern aircraft construction industry.
The complex of buildings, consisting of an office building and a hangar, provides a basis of operations for companies working in the area of aircraft development and construction – and companies involved in the use of plastics, new materials and production technologies, as well

The complex of buildings, consisting of an office building and a hangar, provides a basis of operations for companies working in the area of aircraft development and construction – and companies involved in the use of plastics, new materials and production technologies, as well
as new technological aspects in other areas of use for plastics or the development of products and services in the avionics area. In addition, companies that provide services and supplies to aviation enterprises, automobile manufacturers
and maritime businesses are certainly more than welcome.
Along with the infrastructure of buildings, there is also a runway, with all the associated equipment, and further industrial premises of up to over 100 ha in the vicinity of the airstrip. Roads and railways provide good accessibility.
The proximity to Poland and Scandinavia offers many opportunities for the opening of new markets and business cooperation. Last but not least, the region boasts a well-trained and highly motivated labour force, and nearby universities in Germany and Poland guarantee a very good reservoir of university and vocational college graduates.
We would like to further develop our region together with you, utilising available potential and promoting new ideas and projects. A number of competent organisations are ready to join in this endeavour, providing you with support in your choice of site, the presentation of financing possibilities, obtaining the necessary permits, and also in finding housing and/or building lots in a region that offers your employees a high quality of life and attractive recreational opportunities.
We cordially invite you to accept our offers and look forward eagerly to the time when you will land in our neighbourhood.
